Hudson's Birthday Video

I spent weeks making the attached slide show to share with everyone at Hudson's birthday party. The song that plays with it however is not the song we had playing at the party (still touching however). Since the website I used only has a few selections, I made a playlist on my ipod and had that play along with the slide show instead of what you will hear. The songs that played at the party were: Somewhere over the Rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole, Upside Down by Jack Johnson, and Stop this Train by John Mayer. My Sister-in-Law

My sister-in-law, Sarah, is the Martha Stewart of our family. We all have one, you know the one I'm talking about...who at Thanksgiving has pine cone turkeys on the tables that she has made and a beautiful runner with gorgeous flower centerpieces. Sarah did all the arrangements for my wedding, including the bouquets and boutonnieres. She has a great eye and a natural talent for beauty. Anyway, she also paints and has an amazing knack for that too. For Hudson's birthday she painted him a truck and police car. I can honestly say his room was missing something, one bare wall too many. These have completed his room and how lucky is he to have something so special from his Aunt!

One step, two step

Hudson is SOOOOO close to walking. He has taken at most seven steps. We only have this video so far of him taking just a couple of steps. We aren't convinced he fully gets it yet and since we haven't encouraged him to walk until recently, aren't in too much of a rush for it to happen. When we least expect it though and aren't fully paying attention, he seems to love to walk between the ottoman and the couch. Go figure!!

Hudson's Birthday

Well, it's happened, we officially have a ONE year old! Hudson's birthday party was on Saturday, a cowboy theme. The party was great, 45 people in attendance...crazy!!! For his real birthday on Monday, he had shots (mean Mommy) and then Ryan and I took him to Red Robin for dinner. Ryan and I both decided that we DID NOT want them to sing for Hudson as we would have cried. It was a special moment for us as Ryan and I met and fell in love working at Red Robin years ago, and now we have a one year old! We may make Red Robin a birthday tradition for Hudson...Ryan of course says Hudson can pick where ever he wants to go as he gets older. If he's anything like his Dad, we better start saving for Daniel's Broiler now!! (It's a fancy steakhouse for those that don't live here or have them)

Flooding in Washington

We recently had some major flooding issues and fortunately our home was not in any danger. My parent's town, Woodinville, was hit pretty hard, but they live high enough up that they weren't affected either. Ryan's office complex was evacuated and he was all excited to have a "snow day"...he went to the movies and was paid for it! Here is a shot of Woodinville during the flooding.

So my friend Marcy sent me an email recently with her family's blog. I love checking in on it every few days to see what is new with her family and see pictures of her kiddos. Of course I decided then and there that OUR family needs a blog too and here we are!! Thank you Marcy and hopefully I can keep up with the demands of this blogging fun :)
