Sick Chicken...And Other Exciting News

Hudson ended up getting sick last Wednesday and it lasted through this past Tuesday. He was miserable! Gross nose, fever, congested cough...not fun. Normally when he is sick you wouldn't even know it because it doesn't slow him down. This time however it came just as he is working on molars, ouch!!! All he wanted to do was sit on the couch and watch TV, which I hate, but made the exception (just look at that face in the picture, so sad). Binks and Lovie made an appearance at any given time during the day, normally they are associated just with sleeping. Again, I made the exception. He wasn't sleeping or eating. I can honestly say, those 6 days were the hardest I have had with him to date. He has always been a very easy kiddo so it was really hard to have him whiny and clingy for so long, especially with my pregnancy hormones having me all out of whack with next to no patience. He is finally on the mend though and we were even able to get to the park yesterday to enjoy the fabulous weather we are having. I was starting to get worried because Ryan has Hudson himself this weekend and I was NOT feeling comfortable leaving him alone with his Daddy in his sick state. Which brings me to the "And Other Exciting News" portion...I'm off to San Diego this weekend to train to be a Stroller Strides Instructor! I am very excited and very nervous all at the same time. I'm going to miss my boys SO much (this is the first time leaving them alone together for so long AND the first time I have left Hudson for more than one night). The opportunity presented itself and the timing is perfect. Sorry in advance to all my So Cal friends that I will not have time to see as I am in training from 8am to 4pm both Saturday and Sunday. I am staying with my friend Mandy though which I am very excited about. We haven't seen each other since September, much longer than we normally go!! Wish me luck as I embark on a new adventure :)

Someone Loves Spaghetti

I hadn't given Hudson pasta with red sauce until recently because I didn't want the mess, I know, totally selfish. I finally gave in and am glad I did, he couldn't eat enough!!

Bump Progress

I'm 22 weeks along as of yesterday! Still feeling great, but not sleeping very well. That's how it goes though, I guess if I wanted to sleep I shouldn't have started having kids in the first place! I'm hoping to start Yoga for Pregnancy soon as I did yoga pregnant with Hudson and loved it. I'm still going to Stroller Strides 3-4 times a week, but taking it a little easier as the weeks go by (stop worrying Megs!). Baby girl is still doing very unfortunate things to my skin, but I figure this too shall pass. Being pregnant with a girl is SO different than a boy, or at least my pregnancies have been different. She's getting to be very active with her kicks and jabs, very predictable as well which is good. She's a mover and a shaker after lunch and when I finally sit down at night around 8:00pm. She's actually all over the place now as I type this!

Our Crazy Weekend

My sister, Jennifer, and her 2 daughters came into town last Thursday and stayed until Sunday. It was so great to have them here and Hudson loved constantly having someone to play with (which gives me hope for when baby girl arrives). Even though my sister is only 3 hours away, it's still far enough to make me sad that we aren't living close enough to raise our kids together on a daily bases. So, I'll take what I can get!! Here's our weekend in a nutshell (insert Mike Meyers as Austin Powers pretending to be in a "nutshell" here, pause for a quick laugh).

Jennifer came with me to Stroller Strides Friday morning. She does Stroller Strides herself in Portland. I was hoping my double stroller would be here for her to use, but of course I had to sign for the delivery and they come 20 minutes before I was home on Thursday morning. Bummer!! We made do though and I loved having her in class with me. No pictures, sorry...

Saturday was gorgeous so we went to the Zoo. It was Hudson's first Zoo trip and I was so excited to take him. I knew he would love seeing all the animals since he can't get enough of looking at them in his books. My sister in law and her 2 boys joined us as well as my mom. I was worried that Hudson wouldn't be able to see the animals, but as we strolled around he kept pointing and saying "Doggy". No, there aren't any doggies at our Zoo, but at least I was assured that he was in fact seeing the animals! Pushing the double stroller will take some getting used to, I'm glad I already have it to practice. Here are shots of our "animals".

Finally on Sunday we capped off the weekend by celebrating Jennifer's birthday (April 12), Ryan's birthday (May 3) and Mother's Day with my mom as she will be out of town in Florida. Jennifer and the girls had to leave in the early afternoon Sunday as my brother in law needed to be picked up from the airport that night in Portland. Ryan, Hudson, and I spent the rest of our day relaxing and Hudson was down for bed by 6:00PM that night. He was POOPED! Who am I kidding, so was prego Mommy :)
