Thanks Potato

Last night as I was trying to get dinner in the oven Hudson decided he was going to stand between my legs and proceed to yell at me until I gave him whatever food I had. As none of the food I had was even prepared I tried to tell him that I didn't have anything he would want (reasoning with a 13 month old, what was I thinking). Since he is especially cranky these days as he is getting over an ear infection AND croup, my answer was NOT going to fly. So, I decided that I had one potato too many as it was and gave him a whole, raw, partially pealed potato to "eat". Not only did Hudson leave me alone long enough to get dinner in the oven, I don't think I heard a peep out of him for the next 30 minutes as he dragged that potato all over the house. He was so happy and I was only out a potato!! And yes, it was "stay in your jammies day" at our house yesterday.

Bruiser

Since the heading of our blog says that it will include the adventures of Bruiser too, I decided it was time for him to have a posting. Here is a picture I took today of Bruiser doing what he does best, laying around. He is so good at it in fact, he does it all day long. I had to uncover him from the blanket to even find him and take the picture. Burrowing is also something Bruiser is very good at. For those that don't know much about Bruiser, he is a Boston Terrier/Chihuahua mix and is named after the Chihuahua in Legally Blonde (yes, yes we did name our dog after a dog in a movie, go ahead, laugh it up!). Bruiser will be 4 in February and is a very important part of the family. We are proud that Bruiser made it almost 3-1/2 years before having people food or more importantly knowing that he should beg for it...he learned very quickly what it means when Hudson is in his high chair and will come running when he hears me tell Hudson it's time for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. So now Bruiser is not only the family dog, he is the family mop!

Bathtime

Hudson had an especially fun bath the other night! His cousins were in town and his friend Maddie was over and they all piled in. We didn't plan this, but they happen to be in age order even! From left to right is Alex, Maddie, Hudson, and Ellie. Of course there was no way to get them all looking at the camera at the same time, so I had to pick the best of the ones that I got. Maddie is too cute in this picture to not use this one!

One step, two step update

We officially have a walker! Hudson has found once he has pulled himself up, walking is better than crawling. He still hasn't figured out how to just stand up from sitting or squatting, but as long as he gets himself up with the help of furniture or our legs...off he goes! Here's an updated video taken a few days ago when he realized "Hey, this walking thing isn't half bad". He even tried to run today, we are in SO much trouble!!

New Years Eve

We spent the weekend before New Years with the Mullen Family in Glacier. We stayed in this really cute 2 bedroom "mother-in-law" type house that we would definitely stay at again. Ryan and Mike snowboarded at Mt. Baker during the day while Krissy, the kiddos, and I played at the house. We never did get the kids bundled up to take pictures in the snow and I am sure we will regret that later on (already do actually!). We ended up living it up on New Years Eve, staying up until 10:00PM instead of the usual 9:30PM, HAHAHAHA!! My how things change...we still managed to take some silly photos though. It was nice to get away for a few days!

Sarah's done it again...

My sister-in-law hand painted toy boxes for Hudson and Alex this Christmas (she made one for Ellie years ago and we were really hoping to get one this year!). They are amazing, complete with a padded seat and pillow!! Hudson is enjoying pulling all his toys of out it ;)

Our Christmas

I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas, Hanukkah, New Years and whatever Holiday you may celebrate in between! We had a really fun Holiday season this year with Hudson being able to enjoy opening gifts. I think he was on overload actually, haha! Our Christmas started the day before Christmas Eve with a Seahawks game. Santa even stopped by the suite!! (Photo above)We spent Christmas Eve at our house with Ryan's mom and then Christmas Day at my brother's. It was so fun to have all the cousins together!
